The analyst accountant will execute all aspects of the monthly general ledger close process, including ensuring completeness of transactions, performing analytical review of results and researching variances.
The analyst accountant will directly assist the Finance Supervisor in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deliverables and lead special projects.Main Responsibilities:- Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly close adjustments and accruals
- Perform analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving variances
- Prepare account reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items
- Prepare required schedules for internal and external auditors
- Prepare quarter and year end deliverables to be submitted to corporate
- Prepare and make presentations to management and peers on various accounting topics as require
- Build and maintain working relationships with operating and other finance groups and provide them with subject
- matter expertise assistance
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities through automation and/or efficiency initiatives
- Perform other job related functions as assigned
- Prepare monthly information necessary to tax presentations according to schedule report.
Skills and Experience Required:- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in public or private accounting. Experience with full-cycle accounting,
- month-end closing and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory, GAAP and the ability to apply the concepts to specific situations.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics AX.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Advanced knowledge of Excel including use
- of pivot tables, macros, etc.
- Strong analytical and auditing skills with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels to maximize results.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of tax presentations
