CLIENT amp; PROJECTOur client is a leading book publisher and education technology company. They publish fiction, nonfiction, poetry, textbooks, cookbooks, art books, and more. They also provide digital platforms to create and manage exam materials for University students throughout the US.In this project, our client is developing an MVP for a new e-reader product. The discovery phase is due to finish soon, and, in order to develop the project, new team members are needed.RESPONSIBILITIES- Function as a subject matter expert on DevOps, including but not limited to cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD.
- Work closely with other teams to find solutions to DevOps-related issues impacting end-users.
- Create and maintain internal DevOps documentation.
- Provide operational support to engineering and quality assurance (QA) teams.
- Work with Project Managers, QA leads, and Tech Leads to define best practices for the SDLC.
- Suggest improvements to workflows, processes, and protocols when appropriate.
- Support automation of continuous integration and troubleshoot issues along the CI/CD pipeline.
- Set up and administer development, test, and production environments.
- Deliver production cloud operations support and monitoring in AWS and other hosted
- environments.
- Monitor and manage alert services for the health of the entire cloud architecture, including but not limited to applications, services, CI/CD pipelines, databases, external interfaces.
- Stay up to date with current web development and infrastructure technologies and practices.
- Support production systems and provide system maintenance as needed.
PROFILE - At least 5 years in a DevOps role within a cloud environment, particularly AWS.
- Ability to provide constructive criticism and feedback.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team under strict timelines.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical colleagues.
- Understanding of common web application stacks and how best to manage them.
- Strong problem-solving and scripting skills, including excellent (UNIX/Linux) skills.
- Strong understanding of Git and experience using it with teams.
- Experience supporting production environments.
- Proficiency configuring and managing AWS networks, AWS services (ASG, Load Balancer,
- Security Groups), Docker, and Kubernetes for high traffic web applications and big data.
- Prior experience configuring Linux services, Apache, nginx, and Node.js applications.
- Experience implementing AWS management solutions such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, or CDK.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and management of infrastructure as code.
- Experience with continuous delivery in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Familiarity with AWS CLI, kubectl, and Helm.
- SQL databases and NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
