Qualitest is looking for a Sr Automation Engineer to join our rapidly expanding teams! This is a fully remote position from Argentina.

Main Duties

• Expected to be the champion of quality on the team and drive the quality mindset with coaching and mentoring.
• Ability to pick up engineering tasks designing, developing, and maintaining product features, at a similar capability to an equivalently leveled software engineer.
• Develop solutions that are of high quality, scalable, cloud-based, reliable, and reusable.
• Use quality best practices and programming skills to explore, drive, and implement test automation solutions and testing tools in order to maximize efficiency and test coverage.
• Work with the teams to create and maintain an automated ‘build and test’ verification process that includes an appropriate level of reporting and alerting for teams to be proactive.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum team to plan and execute at high velocity, and across teams throughout the organization to reuse existing components and architect shared functionality.
• You will contribute to and lead process improvement initiatives to improve quality.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including Product Owners regarding user stories, acceptance criteria, definition of done, and other program-related decisions.
• You will act as a risk-driven quality assurance professional, escalating quality issues and concerns in a timely manner, providing suggestions for improvements and taking the lead on implementing those solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years xp in test automation.
• Experience with BDD/TDD and test automation at the unit, component and system test levels.
• Experience with test automation tools (ex. Cypress, Selenium, Nightwatch, Playwright, Jest, Mocha, Jasmine) and JavaScript/TypeScript programming languages
• Experience with API, microservices testing.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc).
• Experience setting automation best practices and ability to perform code reviews.
• Experience working in agile methodology.

Soft Skills

• Proactivity - take initiative for getting things done. For example, following up with the team to figure ut if they have any blockers, follow up for new hires. Keeping the client updated without them asking for it.
• Ability and willingness to support direct reports in the future - Providing constructive feedback on their code. Having one on one with them to mentor them to improve the quality. Own measurements to show those quality improvements.
• Be vocal and descriptive - Provide descriptive reasoning of what you and the team are working on, if there’s risk to timelines raise it early, if it’s taking longer than expected address it before being asked.
• Strong communication skills, will be working independently with customer.
• Show visibility of work - If something is taking longer than expected, be able to switch gears and have other tasks on sprint board that is completed at the end of the sprint and can be pointed to as full workday’s output. Prevent situations where the customer is unsure whether you or the team has completed a full day’s worth of work.
